Mercy Investment Services is greatly saddened by the passing of Carolyn Williams, a member of the Social Responsibility
Committee and longtime friend and co-minister of the Sisters of Mercy.
In addition to her past work on boards and committees of Sisters of Mercy ministries, Carolyn served as co-founder and executive director of Galilee Housing Initiative and Community Development Corporation, a collaborative ministry of the Sisters of Mercy - South Central Community that provides affordable home ownership opportunities.
Carolyn brought much knowledge and many experiences to Mercy Investment Services. She served as a wonderful ambassador of her hometown of New Orleans during Mercy Investment Services' joint meeting of the Social Responsibility Committee and Mercy Partnership Fund Subcommittee in November. She graciously shared her perspectives on Hurricane Katrina and the many challenges faced and overcome by the New Orleans community. Carolyn's desire to help others and her warm and welcoming spirit were a testament to the legacy of Catherine McAuley. Her presence on the Social Responsibility Committee will be missed.
Please join us in praying for Carolyn's family, friends and co-workers during this difficult time.
