Mercy Investment Services is active in several social responsibility organizations including the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (ICCR) and Ceres. By partnering with these and other organizations with similar beliefs and missions, we can engage a larger number of corporations on issues of concern to the Sisters of Mercy and their ministries. Through the prior work of Mercy Investment Program and the Detroit Charitable Trust, Mercy Investment Services continues these partnerships and the established agendas for the 2010 proxy season.
The As You Sow Foundation recently published a summary of the major areas and initiatives being addressed in 2010 by the Sisters of Mercy and other faith-based institutional investors, labor unions, pension funds, and
foundations. Click here to see the social and governance proposals being addressed with corporations through shareholder advocacy.
In June 2010, Mercy Investment Services will meet to begin setting its shareholder advocacy priorities for the 2011 proxy season. Updates will be posted to our website as priorities are set.
